After joining Thirteen as a consultant in March 2018, I was inviited to join the Management team of the Investment and Maintenence section on a permanent basis.

Key Achievements at South Tyneside HomesWinner of 5 national awards for housing (and finalist in another 11 categories) in 2013/14. These include: Best Housing Regeneration Company and also Sustainable Social Housing Finance AwardAchieved Pioneer Status for work with Dementia. Over 30 sheltered accommodation schemes were made Dementia friendly, including the building of Orangeries and Snoozelans (sensory rooms for elderly residents). This work was recognised by the HCA, which awarded £8.4 million to complete the project, which sparked interest from registered charity, Dementia UKDeveloped a 30 year asset business plan based on the asset data base PIMMS, based on sustainability of each estate. In the last 5 years, I have worked extensively in regeneration. This has involved carrying out appraisals ranging from single houses to large housing estates. This led to selective demolition and replacement with new build unitsDirector of the board for North East Procurement “NEP” - a procurement consortium turning over in excess of £45m a yearSet up the new business arm of South Tyneside Homes registered as “STH” - which turned over £2m in its first yearPassionate about the green agenda, piloting new technologies where possible. Worked closely with Department of Environment and Climate Change “DECC” to carry out monitoring of new technologies.Procured and managed responsive and cyclical maintenance and capital investment partnerships for contracts valued at up to £15m Lead on setting up “South Tyneside Housing Venture trust” - a company limited by guarantee (CLG). This is the development and new build arm, which works in partnership with Tyneside Council, to build and acquire 400 social homes in 4 yearsWorked in public sector housing and regeneration for the last 31 years, all of which has been within construction related services. Responsible for managing the decent homes contractors and developing the capital programme by the updating of the asset system.
