My specialty stems from researching, establishing, designing, implementing, administering, and demonstrating outdoor learning environments and neighborhood development.I am a permaculture consultant, designer, and teacher with over a decade of experience. I have dedicated my life to teaching permaculture design, land ethics, and Earth stewardship to young people, instilling ethics in the care of people, our planet, and future generations.I collaborate with individuals, groups, communities, governments, aid organizations, and nonprofits across the United States and Latin America. Our efforts led to the establishment of a K-12 public school network with a social, food, and environmental justice theme in Houston. This initiative sparked the redesign of a high school in the suburbs of Houston’s petro-metro complex. Our school is evolving into the neighborhood’s central green hub, featuring a two acre subtropical urban permaculture garden. The space serves as an outdoor learning classroom for students in the career and technical education pathways, operating with resources from public-private partnerships and the dedication of teachers and volunteers.Currently, I have been consulting and co-managing a 90-acre farm in the Texas Piney Woods for a private landowner since 2017. The property features mixed hardwoods, silvopasture, organic gardens and livestock. We have implemented a prescription to rehabilitate the land along with strategies to hydrate, fireproof, and enrich the forest, soils, and water table. We are also utilizing AI, GPS, GIS, and UAV technology to provide historical records, real-time geospatial data, and energy audits of the site.
