Finance/Risk Management:• Provide management, oversight and expertise to a 12 member global team of professionals responsible for all aspects of the general ledger close for a $500B securities broker-dealer, futures commission merchant and swap dealer• Manage the preparation of the monthly FOCUS report and related supplemental filings for FINRA and the SEC• Manage the preparation of the semi-annual consolidated financial statements and the related footnotes, including Financial Instruments (ASC 825) and Fair Value Measurements (ASC 820), and present to the CFO and senior managementRegulatory Interaction:• Work closely with the Regulatory team on 15c3-1 and 15c3-3 and implemented key reconciliations between the 15c3-3 computation and the balance sheet to satisfy regulators requests• Responsible for monitoring, analyzing and reporting non-allowable assets and help to mitigate the punitive impact on net capital by actively settling intercompany receivables each month for over 200 affiliates• Principal reporting contact for FINRA, CME, and SEC and frequently interact with regulators during annual exams to ensure requests are being met and outstanding issues are appropriately addressed or escalatedLeadership• Member of the Financial Statement peer review team, performing peer reviews for regulated and non-regulated entities with standalone financial statement requirements, ensuring consistency in reporting• Performed a leadership role on the “Balance Sheet Substantiation” peer review team, responsible for reviewing processes with controllers worldwide to provide process and control recommendations• Member of the global “Legal Entity Controllers Committee”, responsible for socializing issues and promoting collaboration between controllers globally• U.S. lead for the Global Legal Entity Controllers tax working group created to establish policy, and prepare and perform tax training sessions for Controllers
