These individuals do not always work well together, Dave has a unique ability to settle people, get them to think about the bigger picture, what we are trying to achieve as a group, and then ultimately deliver it. He can see things from the angle of the sales executive / researcher as well as the staff member who is more focused on operations and project delivery, he does not take sides, he provides constructive push-back when needed and puts the project and client first. Beyond Dave’s research chops, he is someone that has always been at the forefront when it comes to new technology. He was one of the leaders that moved us from traditional online data collection to mobile-first design. This sounds simple enough, but in a business where maintaining trends is critical to client decision making, every possible issue must be explored. Dave’s attention to detail allowed us to spot possible disruptions and either change course, or get ahead of them through providing strong POVs to clients on how to assess step change and why adoption is essential. Dave was one of the initial leaders of our QA group. As our business grew, it became clear that we needed a group dedicated to QA, we could no longer rely on peer checks. Dave helped take a group of people with diverse skill-sets and cross-train them to provide QA support across functional areas. He was able to take folks with survey programming skills and train them on table checking. People with data processing skills and train them on program checking, and so forth. As time went on, Dave worked to find additional tasks that his QA team could take on, whether it be helping to generate POs, or designing business efficiency macros. Beyond what Dave brings to the table professionally, he is also a great human being. He is understanding, tries to put people first as much as possible, and is very encouraging.
