About David Dechant

I have had the privilege of being CFO, VP, senior exec and contributor to the growth of companies 2x to 5x+ during my tenure and through IPO, typically half through organic growth and half through M&A, - in tech, with a top 500 ERP-type product according to Software magazine, and as a top 500 VAR, - in consumer products with customers ranging from Wal-Mart to (indirectly) the Queen of England, and - have also been a manager in billion-dollar global businesses. I have also supported various business initiatives on an outsourced basis. I have held the positions Auditor (Internal and External), Plant, Divisional and Corporate Controller / Finance Team Leader, Acting Manager SEC Reporting, CAO, CFO, CEO and CISO. Having moved from staff roles into senior officer positions, I am both hands-on knowledgeable and operationally savvy. In addition to supporting small to large companies in various capacities, including as CFO, I have stepped into roles to support special projects and temporary gaps in management in a variety of businesses including:- Prepping companies for and taking them through IPO, including implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley controls.- Establishing new roles, departments and teams, and mentoring, initially organizing, and subsequently delegating work.- Taking on all public reporting duties in a billion-dollar organization while the manager stepped out to focus on a software project.- Integrating acquisitions including project managing ERP systems implementations.- Restructuring reporting segmentation, including GL and other operating dimensional coding to meet new strategic managerial, public reporting and regulatory needs at remote and corporate locations.- Taking over finance and accounting for a corporate acquirer and overseeing the transition to a brand new team hired in the lower-cost acquired location. - Addressing accounting and operational issues in new start-up operations.- Overseeing various departments including Accounting and Finance, Cost Accounting, Treasury, HR, Purchasing and IT.- Creating strategic plans and forecasts.- Designing systems for expanded and centralized services to more cost-effectively manage growth, and - Sourcing and implementing ERP and security and financial controls management systems including for SOX.Singly and drawing on other consultant resources when needed, I continue this growth-focused support to many companies and across industries and geographic regions. In this capacity, David was responsible for all the financial affairs of the Company, including financing, compliance with financial reporting rules and regulations, such as those promulgated by the Sarbanes-Oxley legislation, and oversight of the HR and internal IT functions. David's focus was on business strategy and adopting world-class technology to minimize the company's overhead burden as a public company and support sales and operations planning efforts for growth.With the support of its board and continued efforts by the rest of the CSI team, during David's tenure CSI's revenues grew from $25 million to more than $50 million.
