About David Deckert

I take great pride in having worked with so very many different people under such varied and extreme conditions. Through it all I always manage to persevere and make things work. It’s what I do. ══ COMPETENCE ══ Experienced in managing engineering and operational functions, supervising cross-functional teams, monitoring and leading large projects, and creating in-depth standard operating procedures I’m most effective at managing strict timelines, maintaining project budgets, and building strong relationships within and among stakeholders. In high school I worked for my family business as well as an LPG bottler prior to completing my four-year tool and die apprenticeship. Since then I’ve worked on projects in New York, Dallas, Houston, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Beijing, China. A US Army Infantry Veteran I was honored with the Bronze Star Meddle for Meritorious Service. Upon completion of my enlistment, I was able to use my tool & die skills to supplement my GI Bill Aid to Education while I earned my BS in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan. From there I spent many years working in the oil industry in the US, Middle East, and China. I earned my MBA with a Management Information Systems specialization where I finished 3rd of 123 graduates at the University of Dallas. I found that my true passion lies in the problem-solving of making things work. With rich overseas and indigenous experience in handling multi-discipline projects, I ensure business functionality adherence while enhancing a competitive advantage. ✉ deckertdavidh@yahoo.com ☎ 760-650-5290 Operations Management | Project Management | Mechanical Engineering Standards | Policy Design | Budget Development & Tracking | Project Scheduling Logistics | Staff Management | Employee Relations | Process Improvement | Cost Reduction and Management | Codes, Regulations, & Standards | Certified Tool & Die Maker | Wood Frame Construction (Family Business) | Piping and Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID) | Auditing

As Chief Technical Officer (CTO) I direct technical operations for a growing start-up, which is concentrated on converting hydro-carbon vehicles to battery powered AC motors, using a proprietary “TorqueBox” (TB) brand reduction gear box. ══ METICULOUSNESS ══ I enjoy framing architectural decisions while providing leadership and direction in the areas of technology and product development to facilitate and enable growth and business agility. I uphold a strong culture of standard Project Management processes and excellent service delivery as per standards/SLAs. I navigated operations for small start-up to convert hydrocarbon vehicles to battery-powered AC motors using single-speed “TorqueBox” brand reduction gearbox and led the pilot installation in the City of Surprise, AZ. Performed audit function for subcontractor participation.I accomplished the pilot installation for a City of Surprise, AZ, Ford F-150 pickup, which included leading the design, building, and mounting of critical operational systems. I was also proud to conceptualize an expert application of the 96-battery, high voltage 30 kWh set, TB shift mechanism, dash instruments in cab, drive motor, DC-DC converter, electric power steering pump, electric AC compressors, vehicle coolant, and charging and electric controller systems.I had a main role in mounting drive motor, DC-DC converter, electric power steering pump, electric AC compressor, vehicle coolant, charging & electric controller systems, under hood. Engineering Coordinator

Beijing City, China

As Engineering Coordinator I forged a viable team by drawing our customer’s project team, our Chinese Contractor’s design team, as well as their US E&C together to design deliverables for the overall $7.5B power portion of the Jazan Refinery Project. ══ PROFICIENCY ══ Possessing a broad competency in strategic management, with the distinction of driving new project initiatives, designing corporate infrastructures, and contributing to organizational objectives and goals, I immediately identified all participants to establish main players, reporting functions, and all ongoing work as our Chinese Contractor brought in a US E&C to support their team. It was an honor to play such a pivotal role in supervising all engineering deliverables, TBE’s, RFQ’s & Material Requisitions during detail design for $7.5B Power portion of the Jazan Refinery Project. I reviewed all data sites, identified data formats inconsistent with YERP Project Procedures, to minimize amount of rework necessary to allow data from 16 different Contractors, across the World, to merge at completion, conducted interviews, onsite at Contractors’ offices, and with lead engineers overseas. Using my skills I was able to analyze various electrical projects, steering modifications to minimize wastage in design engineering operations, while reducing rejection and realizing operational efficiencies for the organization towards loss management, by following quality standards. Resulting from my decades of work in multi-cultural environments, I was able to create a cross-cultural team-building environment. ══ SPECIALTIES ══ Operations Management | Project Management | Mechanical Engineering Standards | Policy Design | Budget Development & Tracking | Project Scheduling Logistics | Staff Management | Employee Relations | Process Improvement | Cost Reduction and Management | Codes, Regulations, & Standards | Certified Tool & Die Maker | Piping and Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID)
