As a Base Safety Representative and Operations Controller, I was responsible for the administration of the company Safety Management System (SMS) at the base level. In this position I monitored safety issues, provided safety education, assisted in the investigation process for incidents and accidents, and acted as the resident expert on safety matters at the base. I was responsible for providing guidance and approving operational flights when weather parameters meet company established criteria. In this role I also provided induction training for new employees, performed safety audits and compiled database entries to determine appropriate actions. In addition, I was a certified weather observer with and without an Automated Weather Observing Systems where I routinely analyzed weather and implemented appropriate base control measures to ensure safety of personnel and assets.

As the Flight Crew Career Course Developer my duties were to develop and maintain operational training procedures and training curriculum for approximately 1500 nonresident students annually. Coordinated with Headquarters Air Force Senior Staff members to determine career field changes for effective skill level training. In this position I used my experience of 4,713.6 primary flight hours including 410.7 Instructor flight hours to contribute to course development for enlisted aircrew members. In addition, I performed various help desk duties including managing 1,500 trouble tickets to the Headquarters Air Force level help desk, managed 9,000 computer network accounts, coordinated $63K telecom renovation including 496 Local Area Network ports in 62 classrooms/offices.

In this position, I served as the Mobile Operations Branch Manager and Strategic Aviation Operations Planner. My responsibilities in these roles included managing logistics operation support to over 1,700 employees at 5 different locations, office and administrative requirements for Executive Staff members and information and personnel security programs for 130 personnel. In this role I had the opportunity to serve as the Air Logistics subject matter expert for FEMA and the New Orleans International Airport for hurricane evacuation planning. I was the System Administrator for multiple logistic databases with 345 user accounts, prepared/reviewed annual performance reports, drafted/edited United States Air Force Doctrine and Government compliance regulations. I developed infrastructure and manpower requirements for deployed Airfield / Emergency Management teams; evaluated/managed airfield capabilities for 50 Air Terminal Operations; conducted research, compiled data and prepared papers for Executive Staff consideration.
