In the past four years I have built an Oxyacetylene Truck Loading Dock, Finished and Engineering Firm Office, Built a new 6,500 sf VFW Post, a new 6,900 sf Fire Station, and am currently working on a new 5,200 sf Police Station.

Owned and ran an agency for Farmers Insurance. Unfortunately started this business just as the economy took a downturn and was never able to get ahead of the curve.

Responsibilities included but were not limited to: Estimating, staffing of the construction side of the company, handling all phases of bidding with General Contractors, project management of installations such as Gottschalk’s, Targets, Mervyn’s, Home Depot’s, and some very large industrial projects. Extensive problem solving on a large scale was something that was done on an almost daily basis – with many new research and development solutions. Budgeting, scheduling, OSHA requirements, etc., were all part of everyday life.

Responsibilities included but were not limited to: Estimating, scheduling, staffing, superintendent duties, corporate drafting and design for such companies as Quizno’s and Baja Fresh.

I did all the plan take-offs and all of the estimating for the construction side of the company. I did detailed drawings of A/C system layouts for duct construction and installation for commercial and food processing applications.

I assisted the Principal Architect, Gary Vigen, in all aspects of the firm: meeting with corporate clients such as McDonalds and Rite Aid, modifying standard plans to meet new code requirements, assembling specifications, managing the cad/d systems, office budgeting, making sure our projects came in under the allowed budget, hiring and firing, etc.
