During my investigations of the diagnostic capabilities of cell membranes at Yale, it became clear that analogs of natural diagnostic processes could be created to supersede conventional processes. As a member of a hospital emergency response team, I witnessed many deaths that likely could have been prevented had accurate diagnostic information been quickly and readily available to the treatment team. These two experiences clarified my life’s goal – to reduce needless deaths and disabilities using practical analogs of natural diagnostic processes. The three companies I started over the ensuing years served as stepping-stones that are now culminating in the realization of my life’s goal: the Immune Reveal point-of-care diagnostic device, which “reads” the immune system to identify diseases at the point-of-care with unparalleled speed and accuracy.• Firstly, I developed a diagnostic point-of-care platform using analogs of cellular membranes that became the core of the Radiometer ABL 80/90 series which now exceeds $1B per year in revenue. • Secondly, at Diametrics Medical (DMI), we used AI to develop an earlier relative of the single-use Immune Reveal platform. Because our rapid blood-gas test was one of the “holy grails” of healthcare, we could take it public on NASDAQ when the market had been closed for over a year. • Thirdly, using my AI learnings at DMI, I started MultiLogic and developed some of Wall Street's first AI transaction engines (JPMorgan, Merrill-Lynch, Morgan Stanley, etc.). At Immune IQ, I leveraged my accumulated knowledge of AI, the immune system, and point-of-care diagnostic platforms to create the Immune Reveal platform with the intent of enabling rapid and comprehensive disease diagnosis at the point-of-care.
