Developed gel electrolyte formulations to combat polysulfide shuttling in secondary lithium batteries.Used electrochemical impedance spectroscopy to evaluate cell impedance models. Weighed, mixed, and pipetted LiTFSI organic solvent electrolytes into hand assembled CR2025 stainless steel coin cells. A hydraulic press was used to achieve hermetic sealing. All coin assembly operations occurred within an air-locked Braun glove box with a pure argon atmosphere. Employed ball milling and spin coating techniques to build activated carbon, sulfur cathodes onto copper foil substrate. Calculated the theoretical specific capacity of each cathode by mass, and used that value to achieve a proper current charge rate during cycle testing of each test coin cell.
