As Director of Sales I was involved in the development of all sales strategies, methods and ideas to achieve maximum revenue for accommodation and all food and beverage outlets (2 restaurants & 2 bars).Responsibilities* To promote all areas of the Resort to the corporate, leisure & conference sectors.* Manage, train and motivate a sales team of 6 direct reports. Recording an average yearly increase in conference sales revenue of 5 to 15% in the past 4 years.* Set Total Hotel Revenue Management selling strategies in conjunction with Revenue Manager to ensure market share is maintained and focus on bottom line result is maintained.* Foster new ideas and strategies to improve sales and develop a competitive edge to increase sales activities and improve customer loyalty. * Develop exciting new special events for the Marriott Resort during Lexmark Indy Carnival plus Christmas program and school holiday activities.* To achieve personal budgets as set by the General Manager for accommodation and catering sales.* To establish and maintain up to date sales data, listing all necessary information to enable reference and guidelines to performance of existing and potential clients.
