Operated a highly-automated 850K square-foot Advanced Logistic Center consisting of 1000+ Associates and seven miles of conveyance support shipping/receiving and reverse logistics functions for both Ingram and 3PL customers. Handled P&L in excess of $50M; also led a workforce in excess of 500 permanent and up to 500 temporary personnel. Developed the Management Team using company-stated values; included a Director, Senior Managers and over 60 full-time Mangers and supervisor-level Associates. Utilized automated Labor Management Systems, including Red Prairie to supervise a Reverse Logistics process for 40 staff. Oversaw complex employee relations issues existing within an extremely diverse workforce; helped sharpen conflict resolution skills. Gave presentations that outlined facility and performance reviews; initiated discussions with Executive Vice President-level internal and external customers. Directly ran the Finance, Inventory Control, Quality, Safety/Security, and Maintenance support functions for the campus. Also worked as the Senior Manager of Inbound Operations with the company in 2012; managed all inbound activities for a $1B inventory included scheduling, stocking and moving responsibilities before becoming Acting Director in June 2012

Hershey, Pa.

Pioneered the Company’s efforts to be an industry leader and cost-effectively distribute alternate channel products to new and existing customers. Managed all facets of quality, including safety, sanitation, maintenance and compliance to all regulatory standards. Directed staff development via performance reviews, department meetings, and setting objectives and accountabilities. Effectively managed costs of direct labor, materials, and equipment. Led technical and cost analyses for Therma-Freeze packaging refrigerant; implemented usage for both the Sales Fulfillment and Hershey Gifts operations; yielded reduced packaging and shipping costs of $50K. Reduced inventories, reengineered processes and implemented process enhancements that resulted in a 2008 budget reduction of $340K on plan for a $1.2M budget. Reengineered product replenishment process that decreased inventory from over $766K to approximately $636K. Reduced inventory of Literature and Premium materials; shrank the space requirement from 55K to 30K square feet. Implemented Variable Labor strategy that included voluntary time off, campus labor share processes and reducing one full-time employee’s workload to 25 hours per week; cut variable labor by 30% and saved Company over $69K. Managed and directed all Distribution Operations at GENCO’s Lebanon Sales Fulfillment facility; formalized Mass Distribution Fulfillment to carrier’s location, which led to reduced time; ultimately eliminated GENCO’s Lebanon facility resulting in $1.2K savings per distribution. Reengineered Eagle Global Logistics’ daily replenishment process; brought daily mileage per day down from 189 down to 69, cut cycle time from 24 to three hours; also eliminated Friday deliveries which yielded $66.5K in annual savings.

Effectively managed costs for direct labor, materials, and equipment for three warehouses including the Eastern Distribution Center 2 (Hershey, PA), South East Distribution Center (Kennesaw, GA.), and GENCO Distribution System (Lebanon, PA.); managed shipping, receiving, order picking, inventory control, and material flow. Directed all Distribution Operations at the Eastern Distribution Center 2 facility; maximized resources to include people, facility, and equipment; included a $10.4M budget, 610K square feet in space and Excel Logistics. Also oversaw The Hershey Company Southeast Distribution Center, which included a $3.9M budget and a 404K square feet Atlanta Bonded Warehouse. Managed all Distribution Operations at GENCO, The Hershey Company’s Lebanon Sales Fulfillment facility; maximized resources to include people, facility and equipment; featured a $1.2M budget and 55K in square feet. Directed Company/DHL business objectives; yielded a waived fuel surcharge increase that saved the Company $100K. Pioneered an intra-company small parcel shipping blast utilizing the Company network to reduce Project Encore shipping cost for a one-time event by $146K.

Hershey, Pa.

Headed all fulfillment operations at Hershey Direct including shipping, receiving, order picking, inventory control, and material flow; worked to effectively maximize all resources. Directed all external co-packing and third-party logistics order fulfillment partnerships. Served as key member on Corporate Shipping VLP team; reduced 2005 shipping costs $8K on a $2M spend. Pioneered an intra-company Sonic Deployment strategy to fulfill “Chicago Retail Experience” merchandise; decreased shipping costs $125K annually; did the same for the “Times Square Retail Experience” merchandise; reduced on-hand annual inventory costs to $500K. Integrated all Mauna Loa acquisition fulfillment processes onsite. Managed preferred customer large order processing from “order to door,” which streamlined internal processes.
