* Maintained and upgraded FINRA’s NMLS (National Mortgage Loan system) in C# and ASP.Net Web Forms and MVC applications using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL. Mortgage Brokers are required by State and Federal regulators to provide both company and individual information. This system is responsible for collecting that information and providing it to the appropriate regulators for evaluation, and license approval. This is a three tiered system using Oracle as a database, below a business layer and a web user interface on top. I worked on all three levels, mostly on the UI/Business layer, but also supported the database team with stored procedure development. This included License renewal processing, MU1, MU3, MU4 form processing, and Authorized Delegates. Performed Code Reviews. Worked with the Business Analysts to translate the Customer’s requirements into a working system. Used Agile Methodologies Unit Testing was via NUNIT Some database processing was done using nHibernate* Upgrade a multi-platform forms routing system that I previously created in C++, XML input format, and IBM MQ Series for transport to run on 64 bit systems. This included updating IBM MQ Series Increased the amount the data the system could process. * Created framework and system to load multi-lingual, multi-character set intellectual property data from multiple patent authorities including but not limited to US, European, Japan, China, Korean and Russian Patent Offices into SQL Server for full text searching. Character sets included Asian, Latin, and Cyrillic. Project also included normalization of name and address strings (Latin character set only).* Developed the intellectual property backend processing for Thomson Reuters “Research in View” product.* Part of a team that developed a system for the University of California to allow them to populate their technology transfer items on the Web. This project involved developing a database schema, transferring data from Oracle to MS SQL Server. Developing the middle and backend software to support the public facing Web application. * Developed process to migrate National Institute of Health technology transfer items from a legacy application to their new website. This involved parsing full text data into fields to be included in the new database.

The application allows communications between a laptop and a PDA. Application used C#, C++ and Matlab* Created a .NET C# application for SoftMed to control multiple machines via Microsoft WMI (Windows Management Interface). * Optimized report generation for the PSAT project for College Board. The client’s PSAT reports process was a set of Oracle SQL scripts. Originally, the entire report generation took 2 weeks to run. I optimized to 8 hours.* Created and optimized Oracle SQL for College Board’s SpringBoard application. The SpringBoard application is a national subscription web based system which allows teachers to create standardized assessments and administer the assessments to their classes. * Updated Eclipsys’s HL7 medical information processing. * Architected, designed, and developed a job routing system (NSG) in C++ for NASD (National Association of Security Dealers). NSG is an advanced job routing system which used IBM MQSeries and XML. NSG runs on both Microsoft and UNIX platforms. * Designed and developed a cross-platform equation processor in C++ as part of an advanced automated surveillance system for NASDAQ. * Improved the filing through-put of Web IARD up to 400%. WebIARD is a web-based software system for the NASD that collects and processes registration requests and other related information for Investment Advisers.* Worked on NASDAQ’s Bond Automated Confirmation Transaction (BACT). I created a C++ NT Service for NASDAQ, which pulled system messages off their Tandem mainframe and place these messages into a SQL Server database.* Designed and developed Web CRD is a web-based software system for NASD that processes information, such as broker registrations, and monitors qualifications for Broker-Dealers and Investment Advisers.

My duties included defining areas in our current products that are in need of enhancement or replacement, and finding possible technologies/tools that can be used to fulfill that need. If a tool did not exist, then I developed the tool and trained the development staff on its use.* Designed and implemented an award winning object oriented Microsoft Windows C++ user interface framework. This framework included the ability to display, and print formatted text, mathematical equations, chemical structure, pictures, infinite lists, and full text database searching.
