Dave Dohnalek has more than 40 years of business experience in areas including finance, treasury, insurance and risk management, pension investing, tax, asset leasing, financial planning, corporate strategy and development, and manufacturing engineering. Dave retired from The Boeing Company in 2023 where he was senior vice president and Treasurer and a member of its Executive Council consisting of the top 20 executives at the company. He also served as Boeing’s interim Chief Financial Officer in 2021 leading a team of over 5,000 employees and responsible for all of Boeing’s financial operations. Dave has served in numerous board and advisory roles during his career.During his 21 years at Boeing, Dave’s executive roles included leading the Treasury team during the most challenging period in the company’s history. Dave led the effort to raise $75 billion in capital to manage through the combined effects of the COVID pandemic on the aviation industry as well as the two-year grounding of Boeing’s highest volume commercial airplane. In the process, Dave completed the largest non-M&A related bond issuance in corporate history for $25 billion. His broad executive responsibilities as treasurer included managing corporate finance and banking, capital markets, global treasury operations, insurance and pension investments. Additionally, he was chairman of Boeing Capital Corporation, a global provider of aircraft financing and trading solutions, and led Boeing’s Tax organization. Dave also served as investment committee chairman of the world’s largest corporate retirement plan, with approximately $130 billion of assets. Dave was responsible for leading all management presentations to the board’s finance committee and had direct interaction with Boeing board and committee Chairs for over 15 years.Dave’s board experience includes: Private Export Funding Corporation (PEFCO), which finances large US exports; NorthShore University HealthSystem, a large multi-hospital health organization in the Chicago area; Chicago Public Library Foundation; National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which sponsors scholarships for college students; Champaign Telephone Company; Magyar Telekom, one of the largest telecommunications firms in Central Europe; and, World Business Chicago, an economic development catalyst for the city. Dave also served on the advisory boards of Chicago Infrastructure Trust and FM Global, a large property insurer.
