I'm a David and the last time I checked I'm some sort of computational biologist research support manager thing... It gets tricky at the periphery of academia where research and forward facing services clash.I'm the lead of the Research Support work package of the Norwegian node of the European intergovernmental organisation Elixir (elixir-europe.org) where my job at it's core is to use my biological, computational and project management skills to help life science researchers generate and analyse large scale datasets be that via consultation at the grant writing stage, provision of analytical services once data does exist, training of people to be able to create and run out their own analysis pipelines or anything in between.
