David has been a self-employed entrepreneur for most of his working life. After studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Ulster University, he worked for some time as a computer engineer for the Education Authority before starting his own business.He has had business interests in retail, leisure, and manufacturing, giving him a wide and varied history of experience in management and leadership across many sectors.Outside of work, his interests and accomplishments are wide and varied. He loves the outdoors and is a keen trekker and adventure motorcyclist. David holds both CAA and FAA private pilot licenses with additional ratings for seaplane, IMC, and night flying. He is a PADI qualified MSDT scuba diving instructor certified to teach sixteen different diving specialities ranging from deep diving to wreck diving, and is also a qualified first aid instructor-trainer.David has been fundraising for charity for over thirty years and has completed eleven international fundraising challenges, the most recent being a 2340km motorcycle ride to Mount Everest's fabled North Face Base Camp in Tibet to raise funds for Action Cancer.In 2022, the late Queen Elizabeth II awarded David an MBE for services to charity and the community. He was invested with his award a year later by HM King Charles at Windsor Castle.In 2023, Rotary International honoured David with a multiple Paul Harris Fellowship award and later, in 2024, with a Rotary International Major Donor Award for his work in support of their End Polio Now campaign.In 2024 David was named Maker & Creator Entrepreneur of the Year at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards in London.Multi-award-winning signage and branding company LE Graphics was established by David in 1995 and has grown to be one of Northern Ireland's leading signage design and manufacturing businesses. They manufacture and install a wide range of signage, shop fronts, vehicle graphics, and banners, as well as POS and exhibition graphics, digital print, and graphic design services. LE Graphics is also one of the leading suppliers of embroidered and printed workwear and promotional clothing in the UK and Ireland. LE Graphics is constantly expanding its range of products as demand and technology advance, most recently bringing quality branded carpet logo mats and a new range of digital signage to its wide customer base.
