👋🏻 Hello, my name is David! 👨🏻‍🏫 I am an Assistant Professor of Organizational Communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 🌳 Missouri born, with a passion for understanding the lived experience of those affected by organizational tension and dysfunction. 📚 My qualitative research focuses on organizational communication and identity. I'm interested in how people organize around issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. I have collaborated on projects that explore injustice in various contexts, such as food insecurity, and done my own projects exploring the politics of social justice organizations. In tandem with research, I teach classes in the Department of Communication at UNC Chapel Hill, such as Gender Communication and Organizational Communication.🔜 I hope to extend my research by exploring other contexts of organizational tension, such as grassroots organizations and LGBTQ+ nonprofits. 🍪 When I'm not writing or teaching, I love working out and baking cookies for my colleagues and friends.
