Shift Supervisor reporting to a Production Unit Leader within the Operations department. Supervise and control a variety of plants to ensure customer demands are safely met, whilst working in collaboration with other parts of the business e.g. QHSE, Engineering, IT, HR, Commercial and Logistics.As a Shift Supervisor I hold the following key areas of responsibility:Team LeadershipTo lead and supervise a shift team of up to 15 operatorsHelping to achieve and maintain excellent professional operators’ performance levels in safety, quality, operational cost and efficiency through training, coaching, counselling and the use of the company policies and proceduresAuthorising callouts of additional resourcesPlanning and allocating operators to process plants to maximise production plan targets across the site.SafetyProvide safety leadership and demonstrate the desired behaviours to ensure zero incidents.Prepare, co-ordinate and authorise a Safe System of Work for activities, including ensuring equipment is isolated and decontaminated as required.Act as Site Main Controller, working alongside other members of the Incident Control Centre during on and off-site emergencies and implement emergency plans as required.Plant OperationsManage the plant operation with the site based team to ensure production, efficiency and reliability targets are met or exceeded.Ensure the safe and efficient shutdown, decontamination and restart of production plant processes, and support the commissioning of new plants, process improvements and upgrades.Providing technical and troubleshooting advice to ensure processes are run safely and effectively whilst production downtime is minimised.
