Lead and manage the overall safety functions and ensuring compliance with applicable government regulations and company policies. In partnership with managers and employees, also responsible for ensuring a safe work environment and that people work safely.

• Manage activities and initiate measures of 6 supervisors and 5 departments to achieve long-term cost savings. Maintain awareness of new developments and technologies and direct subsequent investigations regarding their.
• Advise senior managers and engineering regarding such matters as most effective means of complying with new contract stipulations and improving customer relations.
• Provide administrative support to senior managers and advise less experienced supervisors regarding more complex aspects of their assignments.

• Supervised the Weld Fab and Shaft Bay departments, and later the Assembly Department. Accountabilities included scheduling and coordinating activities of the departments for all three shifts with an average shipment.
• Responsible for the assembly and testing of large AC motors, working closely with Quality, Engineering and Customer Service.
• Designed and implemented material inventory sheets to establish weekly schedules for inventory and assign responsibilities for tasks, reducing shortages by 74% in the first two months of implementation.
• Put into action a color code system for operator identification so that quality issues are easily addressed. Defects dropped by 19% after implementation.

• Supervised activities on machining lines with personnel on all shifts to meet customer demand and satisfaction.
• Developed and implemented Demand Flow Technology to eliminate shortages.
• Analyzed and evaluated quality/production problems as they developed and initiated corrective action.
• Implemented several safety, cost saving strategies, i.e. an ergonomic improvement and the purchase of a stator lifting device saving the company thousands of dollars on life-altering back injuries.
