• Initiated led and raised a $100m SPAC (Special Purpose Acquisition Corp- a blank check company) focused on acquiring an insurance company. The SPAC, Dekania Corp. (Ticker DEK), went public on Feb 2007 (Merrill Lynch and Maxim serving as underwriters).• CIO and Member of the team that led the creation of Alesco Financial, a public financial REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust), an asset management vehicles, that became a public company (ticker symbol AFN- today IFMI) in early 2006.

• CIO of “New Mivtachim,” the largest pension fund in Israel, with over $3B AUM. • My mission was to start, from scratch, the investment arm of the fund that was separated from its sister fund, the “Veteran” Mivtachim. • Starting with one (1) person, and reaching seven (7), New Mivtachim was (and still is) the largest Pension fund (defined contribution) in Israel with a market share of over 50%, and AUM of over $4.5 Billion at the time.• Implemented and led significant changes in the investment profile of “New Mivtachim,” from a fund that invests 70% of its assets in specially issued government bonds, to one that literally had to invest all of its inflows in the free market.• As a substantial player in the marketplace, New Mivtachim became a significant investor in leading publically traded companies, private equity funds (in Israel and abroad), hedge funds, BOT projects (toll roads, water desalination, light trains, etc.), as well as corporate and sovereign bonds. • Investment performance was ranked number 1 and 2 during my tenure, in spite of its relative size disadvantage.
