The aim of the project was to migrate many terabytes of data from legacy Data Centres to Microsoft-hosted Azure infrastructure, to facilitate the closure of 3 Data Centres and decommissioning of legacy servers. The project spanned all 3 main lines of business: Core DEFRA, Environment Agency, Rural Payments Agency. The data was hosted on over 700 file shares, across ~50 servers. The migration tooling was run by a 3rd party; the remit of Pace-XL was the Project Management (planning and reporting) and migration aftercare support.• Data Analysis, lookup, matching, transformation.• Database setup for automated data transformation, matching, lookup and reporting. SQL (~2500 lines) and Power Query transformations (~100 lines). • Pre-Migration user engagement technical sessions.• Post-Migration user support. Manual drive re-mapping and triage of issues.• Data Analysis of business application list to group and aggregate based on app priority and SME support groups.• Development of a tactical reporting and lookup system, as a short-term replacement for an application that could not be remediated to work under 64-bit Windows 10.

The aim of the project is to pre-emptively analyse, investigate and remediate End User Developed Application (EUDA) Excel Workbooks and Add-Ins, such that their owners/users can be migrated to Windows 10 and a 64-bit Microsoft Office environment.• Development and testing of Excel VBA tools for scanning Workbooks, reporting and data loading / validation.• Excel VBA macro remediation (64-bit kernel calls).• Managing datasets: all workbooks / files in scope, all JIRA tickets, all scanned components.• Building datasets / reports in Excel / PowerBI for management reporting and to help plan and schedule the remediation efforts.

CODAP / Role & Relationships / Master GroupsThis project was to automate the complex manual monthly process for the update of the client Master Groups master list. • Worked with SMEs to define, document and implement rules to combine and map latest data from extracts of client data, finance and risk systems. • Defined, wrote and enhanced Oracle views, tables, functions and stored procedures to update each system’s historic view, and the combined view of mapped / derived data in a slowly changing dimension table. • Built Master Group Master extract report and row by row reconciliation report highlighting any differences between the manual and automated update processes.• Built an Excel VBA Proforma document generation tool, for Relationship Manager attestation of Legal Entity inclusion or removal from its Master Group allowing single or batch mode creation of Proforma documents for review and attestation. • Extracted data from multiple Oracle views to show all Legal Entity details, their status, roles and client / non-client party relationships along with KYC data, immediate/ultimate parent details and data quality flags. • Loaded data via Excel VBA and SQL*Loader, to Oracle • Implemented hyperlinking between Excel sheets to automatically apply filters • Added summary level reporting for additional high-level views of the data. • Wrote an Excel to Oracle loader for reviewed Proformas to update the central database with RM decisions and reasons.• Built an Excel VBA tool to parse and generate XML message documents for the new strategic Master Group Service to allow easy simulation of test cases for the Business Analysts.• Working in an Agile, team environment, using Jira to track tasks and issues.

Working with CRMs to set priorities and understand individual client's bespoke workflow and requirements. Defaulting and exporting of additional required MiFID II fields to the MTF and re-import of additional fields to facilitate MiFID II trade reporting regulations. Debugging and fixing code, standardising and creating generic functionality to make client solutions more consistent and easier to support and maintain. Learning the FX Connect client and trader systems and creating test funds for specific use cases. End to end testing of each client's workflow in the UAT environment. Testing all trading combinations and default settings, between the buy-side and sell-side FX Connect applications. Issue tracking with JIRA / Confluence and source control with Perforce.

Payments Transparency (Global Markets Operations) - Global Standards.VBA, Oracle development / Data Analysis on the Legal Entity Certification factory model and Account Certification factory model processes. To facilitate, track and report on the promotion of Standard Settlement Instructions (SSIs) to eligible for Global Standards Compliance.Created, enhanced and maintained a generic set of VBA tools, in an Agile working environment. Allowing data feeds to be mapped and loaded into the factory model Oracle database (with varying formats and validation requirements), and to allow extracts and reports to be unloaded from Oracle to Excel, based on defined templates or meta-data driven formats (using stored procedures or SQL query files, with automated formatting).Created and maintained a suite of Oracle tables, views, functions and stored procedures to process daily Operating Address and Registered Address updates from the Vendor. To be standardised, anglicised and reformatted ready to be sent to the data processing teams for updating of the Golden Source system's data.Created a robust load process for KYC data feeds from 4 different platforms. Pre-procesing data files for SQL*Loader bulk upload to staging tables and running stored procedures to map required data fields to a common format and derive standard status values, to facilitate a global KYC status view of legal entities.Created a VBA tool to quickly parse and extract defined columns from large, raw LavaStorm output files, auto-creating SQL*Loader control files and scripts to bulk load into Oracle.Profiling and improving queries (e.g. with materialised views); ad-hoc queries, reports and MI; data investigation and remediation; SQL*Loader data loads. Project Mercury (Global Markets) - Data Alignment.Supporting a team of 14 resources tasked with manually eyeballing data to propose, confirm or change alignment of records between the golden source books & records client onboarding system and the front office sales reporting system, to facilitate client remediation and off-boarding.Dealing with multiple supplies of 10's or 100's of thousands of rows of potentially matching data from multiple data teams. Working with data supply teams to clarify requirements, confirm the source and meaning of data fields and exact or fuzzy matching logic, to create a consistent, understood extract format.Built and maintained an Excel VBA based tracking tool to keep track of 140,000 sales reporting system IDs, to manage various overlapping client buckets and progress of the team to align the data. Defined standard template and naming conventions for the team to return checked data and results to be loaded into the tracker.Enhanced tracker with meta data from various sources to flag clients with high revenue credits from different divisions of the bank and show which are flagged as Green or Red list, to allow better targeting of client buckets to target next and to facilitate detailed MI reporting on progress, with key MI stats auto-generated by the tracker.Joining full raw data extracts to the tracker to strip out data on-hold or already processed. Allocation of data to individual team members by client group to enable the best full client relationship view for the data alignment, with pressure to keep all team members supplied and busy at all times.
