My name is David Dumas, I am currently 23 years old, and I am a Junior-year Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering major at Old Dominion University. I graduated from Catholic High School with awards and prestigious academic certificates, and continued to earn Dean’s list my first semester in college and on. My gpa is a 3.0 overall, 3.94 from my first semester as a freshman. I am able to speak fully in Spanish, as well as read, write, comprehend and translate it as I took 4 years of high school, and Advanced Placement Spanish, throughout high school. I plan to continue studying engineering in the form of a Masters Degree, possibly med school, and continue studying English/Writing and/or Theatre/Dramatic Arts as my possible minor. I hope to work in engineering in the form of writing research papers, working and learning about medical prosthetics and vaccination efforts, and follow my passion of medicine, engineering and the sciences. I am currently working as a Retail Store Manager at Anderson’s Home and Garden Center, as I was promoted from Retail Cashier to Head Cashier in April 2022, then to Store Manager in June of 2022, have worked previously in computer internship, and plan to continue working throughout college. I have learned how to communicate, work as a team, set up and design areas of the store and work on inventory and dispatching of items throughout my time, and upon promotion, have been tasked with schedule making, counting drawers, opening and closing the store, and managing the team alongside two other managers.
