"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?" - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This question has guided my work and experience in leadership, advocacy, and education. I’ve successfully introduced a policy to reduce gender-based violence in the Kisumu County psychiatric facility. I’ve advocated for Congress to double the Federal Pell Grant to make higher education more accessible. As an elected member of Vanderbilt University's honor council, I adjudicated over twenty student cases involving academic integrity. As an educator, I’ve achieved a level 5 designation- the highest distinction of student academic success available from the Tennessee Department of Education. I've also recruited and consulted over 100 prospective teachers across the United States to help fill the teacher shortage especially experienced in urban schools. I am passionate and excited to continue to make an impact through social justice and equity.
