More than 40 years experience in Local Government and the private sector. My extensive experience includes a number of Open Space, Recreation, Infrastructure, Capital Works, Major Projects, Project Management and Acting Director roles.I am a contemporary, dedicated, experienced, innovative, passionate and inspirational leader. I have a critical eye for detail and have a history of getting things done to the highest standard on time and on budget. I take pride in my people skills and an ability to connect with people at all levels in organisations, both internal and external. I always work with a strong commitment to continuous improvement, business excellence, strategic planning and creating a safe work environment. I work effectively and collaboratively in partnership with staff, Councillors, community, business and government agencies to achieve the best outcomes for the community. For the past 30 years all my roles have been in a senior management capacity, in organisations that were experiencing significant change and varying challenges. Within this environment I have been able to define workforce culture and bring cross organisational teams together. I emphasise the importance of my teams actively participating in and supporting strategic projects with other units in order to achieve overall organisational goals with guidance, encouragement, motivation and support.In 2010 I started my own business, mainly consulting to Local Government Councils undertaking a range of projects. These included reviewing, planning and setting up structures to deal with Open Space and Recreation growth and change; policy development, long term financial planning and developing maintenance standards. I joined Baw Baw in June 2013 as the Manager Urban Operations / Infrastructure Maintenance, where I managed and coached the outdoor teams and partnering contractors with best practice to be highly efficient and competitive in delivering Council’s adopted maintenance standards. As Acting Director Community Assets at Baw Baw for 11 months, l led the team to achieve 100 per cent Endorsement of all Recommendations to Council, 97 per cent completion of Council’s $25Million Capital Works Program on budget, managed the Directorate $28.5Million Operational Budget with a year-end savings of $23,000 and all Council Plan objectives.I have just completed a contract with the City of Boroondara as the Acting Senior Coordinator Open Space where l was responsible for the management and leadership of all open space services while the organisation underwent a total redesign.
