40 years experience handling worldwide insurance/reinsurance claims, specifically in the Property & Casualty and Energy fields.Started career with Commercial Union ( AVIVA) and subsequently worked for four differing London based Insurance/Reinsurance Brokers.Appointed Cooper Gay & Co Ltd ' Non Marine/Energy Claims Director in February 1998 managing a team of 10 claims brokers/technicians and handling claims within various classes of business worldwide including Property, Energy, onshore and offshore, Liability, Machinery Breakdown, CAR/EAR and Business Interruption.As of January 2012, appointed Claims Director within the Central Claims Services Division, with responsibility for managing Global Claims Strategy Group and being Deputy Chair of the UK companies Claims Management Group.In April 2014, appointed Head of Claims for the combined business of Cooper Gay/ Newman Martin & Buchan, now CGNMB LLP, chairing both the Claims Management Committee and Claims Steering Group. Experienced in:* Handling open market facultative and direct claims as well as treaty and binding authority losses.* Liaising with clients and underwriters alike, together with loss adjusters, lawyers and other experts.* Travelling overseas to meet clients and negotiate large & contentious claims.* Supervision of claims staff on a daily basis.* Attending London market meetings (member of LIIBA Claims Supervisory Committee).
