• Serves as the lead Economic Development officer for the City of Cleveland• Appointed by Mayor to management of an 18-person Department, including oversight of Development staff and management of a loan portfolio in excess of $250 Million. Provides experience with complicated tax credit financing, significant environmental contamination, regulatory structures, and the combination of multiple funding sources for the funding of projects, including HUD 108, EDA, New Market Tax Credits, Tax Increment Financing and multiple brownfield funding sources. • Attends Mayor’s Cabinet meetings and presents legislation to City Council, representing the Department to public and private stakeholders• Led the effort to retain the headquarters of the Sherwin-Williams Company in downtown Cleveland • Coordinates and manages high-profile development projects, including TIF and HUD 108 loans, with the assistance of Development staff. Led the negotiation of financial package for the redevelopment of the Victory Building as the new headquarters for Dealer Tire.• Provides technical assistance to other Departments of the City with issues that relate to development, environmental, and brownfields.• Co-leader on implementation of Mayor’s Neighborhood Transformation Initiative, a multi-faceted approach to neighborhood development through mixed-use, residential, retail, and entrepreneurial development approaches• Manages City’s Industrial-Commercial Land Bank program. Uses project management skills to coordinate environmental consultants and contractors to conduct clean-up. Since 2009, the Industrial Commercial Land Bank program has caused over 100 acres of City-owned formerly industrial property to achieve No Further Action under the Ohio EPA’s Voluntary Action Program.

- Actively engages in the revitalization of environmentally compromised, structurally obsolete, and underutilized properties. - Provides experience with complicated tax credit financing, significant environmental contamination, regulatory structures, and the combination of multiple funding sources for the funding of projects, including HUD 108, EDA, New Market Tax Credits, and multiple brownfield funding sources. - Responsible for numerous brownfield redevelopment projects, including a State of Ohio Job Ready Sites Grant, the City's Industrial Commercial Land Bank projects, including 21-acre, 15-acre, and 10-acre clean-up and redevelopment sites, and management of several EPA Assessment and Clean-Up Grants. - Manages the Economic Development Brownfield team and frequently provides assistance to other Departments on brownfield issues as needed.
