Dr David Eckhoff is a Principal Scientist at TUMCREATE, a research institute by TU Munich in Singapore as well as the co-founder of Intobyte, Singapore, a company that specialises in digital twins for transport systems.David is mainly concerned with the modelling and simulation of Intelligent Transport Systems. A particular focus lies on progressing simulation techniques and coupling different environments to evaluate new and more visionary ITS applications, including smart city and communication technologies.David received his PhD degree in Computer Science in 2016 at the University of Erlangen. His research on data privacy in vehicular networks was nominated for best PhD thesis in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. In 2016 he was a visiting scholar at the University of Melbourne, Australia. In October 2016, he joined TUMCREATE in Singapore. In 2021, he initiated the MoVES lab at TUMCREATE to push the boundaries of large-scale microscopic simulation with CityMoS, the City Mobility Simulator.
