In 2015, I graduated from the Masters of Social Work Program at the University at Buffalo, School of Social Work. The UB School of Social Work is one of three schools in the USA that focuses on Trauma-Informed Care from a Human Rights Perspective. My placement experience at a Community Health Centre and a Children's Mental Health Agency were highly rewarding and I enjoyed working with some of the most vulnerable in our community in a clinical setting. This placement was the perfect setting to apply the principles of Trauma-Informed Care - Trustworthiness, Choice, Collaboration, Empathy and Safety using social work interventions I developed at school and with my supervisors. I also have a Masters of Arts Degree from Carleton University, 1988.I currently employed as a social worker at Quest Community Health Centre in St. Catharines and the Canadian Mental Health Association - Niagara Branch.
