David has practiced law with Singleton Urquhart LLP since March 2014. He has been a partner since January 2015, a member of its Conflicts Committee since January 2016, and a member of its Management Committee since January, 2017. David joined Singleton Urquhart LLP following 20 years' practice at Heenan Blaikie LLP, an international law firm. After obtaining an LLM from University College London in international commercial law topics, David was hired into that firm's rapidly growing entertainment law group, but over the years his practice evolved to be primarily litigation-based. As the firm grew, he gained a very broad range of expertise and experience in resolving commercial, construction, professional liability, employment, entertainment and other types of disputes, working with lawyers from almost all of Heenan Blaikie LLP's offices. He sat on the firm's National Management Committee and its Conflict Committee. Since joining Singleton Urquhart LLP, David has assisted its director and officer liability, construction and insurance law practices. David has presented at Singleton Urquhart LLP's Workplace Law seminar. David is a co-author of the Canadian law chapter of Entertainment Law and Litigation, Charles J. Harder, editor (LexisNexis IP Law & Strategy Series). He has written or co-authored articles on a many topics for Singleton Urquhart LLP's Letter of the Law, Continuing Legal Education, and Cecile Park Publishing's E-Commerce Law Reports, Leading Internet Cases and Digital Business Lawyer.
