• Developed catalysts to decompose pesticides and chemical weapons as part of a DOD funded research program• Carried-out detailed mechanistic studies of catalytic reactions (rate laws, activation parameters, product inhibition, tolerance to moisture and inorganic salts, etc.)• Optimized catalysts to achieve catalytic rate accelerations of more than a billion-fold• Published eleven peer-reviewed papers and attended several international conferences

Chemistry

• Developed a synthetic method for the one-pot carbon monoxide free hydroformylation of alkenes• Corresponding author on two high profile publications addressing mechanistic elements of the Corey-Chaykovsky epoxidation (received 29 citations to date)• Awarded Ontario Graduate Scholarship and Walter Sumner Fellowship (twice each)
