I’m passionate about building, and participating in, adventures with food. From the perspectives of Culinary, Category Management, Procurement, Product Development, Innovation, Logistics, and more, I combine targeted expertise with an intuitive ability to design innovative solutions. At this point in my career I’d like to focus on utilizing my seasoned perspective to create, develop, collaborate on, and write about amazing foods and products.After spending years in various leadership roles within the corporate food industry, I left my job in 2022 as a senior manager to care for my terminally ill father. During that time, I developed a refreshed perspective and focus on what's important. So, after my dad passed in 2023, I pivoted from a successful corporate career and enrolled at Kendall College to engage my passions for cooking and creativity. I completed my studies in their Professional Cookery program in spring 2024.While at Kendall College, I studied the fundamentals of culinary arts and also gained practical experience working in upscale causal and fine dining restaurants. Now I’m eager to apply my passion for food, analytical mind, creative thinking, personnel leadership, and industry experience to furthering my food industry career. I am interested in working with food focused companies where I can use all of my diverse industry experience and expertise.

I also overhauled the ice cream and novelty pricing process, reinvigorated the new item/innovation pipeline for all my categories, increased member participation in the categories I managed, and had a positive impact both culturally and financially on the Frozen Dept. and the organization as a whole. -

As a leading distributor for the independent grocery and convenience store channels, and the premier Hispanic distributor in our market, I had tremendous exposure to a variety of food categories and items. As the primary refrigerated and frozen distributor for Walgreens in IL and Northwest IN at the time, I worked on their Chicago area "desert store" project which helped bring expanded grocery sections to underserved communities.Layed off in December 2009 as part of a seniority based staff reduction.
