As an experienced software professional and technical leader, I excel at understanding customer and business needs and developing software solutions in response to those needs. In roles I have held recently as Team Lead and Principal Software Architect, I have led the development effort for several software platforms in a variety of industries. I have specified high level architecture, designed new functionality, documented how existing functionality should be updated to meet changing requirements, and worked closely with teams, both local and remote, to implement solutions. Being in positions of technical leadership, I am well versed in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and have helped the organizations I work for improve their software development process and roll out new software processes and procedures.I love designing and writing software and enjoy the challenges associated with learning new technologies. However, I don't believe the love of a new technology or approach should be the driver for making changes to business solutions. Business and customer needs must be understood, and then the appropriate software and technology decisions should be made to support the needs that have been identified. I easily understand and synthesize information, which may be changing on-the-fly, to make decisions and identify concrete next-steps. Along with that, I am an excellent communicator and am comfortable discussing a topic face-to-face, through email, or making a presentation to a room full of people.
