Appointed a Recorder in 2001 and a Deputy High Court Judge in 2008 (including Administrative and Planning Courts and London Circuit Commercial Court) and Judge of the Upper Tribunal (Asylum & Immigration Chamber). Has also appeared in the CJEU, the European Court of Human Rights, the Court of Appeal and Court of Final Appeal in Hong Kong. Member of the Boundary Commission from 2009 to 2019. Sits as an arbitrator and expert and is an ADR Group Accredited Mediator. He is General Editor of the Encyclopedia of Planning Law and Practice.
