I'm the sort of person who would be (and usually is) working with technology just for the fun of it, not just at my job. I've been developing software since just out of high school, on everything from DOS-based work order systems to Android and Windows-based business intelligence tools to full-stack SaaS web applications. Lately most of my work has been in either JavaScript or Typescript, though I prefer the latter. I'm comfortable with both back- and front-end, but I believe that knowing both sides for the application I'm working on is very valuable, even if I work primarily in one side or the other. I make a point of keeping up with current tech without venturing onto the bleeding edge; currently I'm sharpening my Go skills and reading up on Svelte.When in a team environment, I make a point of being on the lookout for ideas that can make everyone's lives easier and more productive, and enjoy presenting things I find, but I make sure to remain humble. In the past I've encountered people who get angry and hostile when their ideas are disagreed with or their work is constructively criticized, and I've promised myself that I never, ever want to be "that guy." The best part of my day at work is finding out that someone used something of mine in a way that helps them, be that a new feature I wrote that is getting an end-user where they want to go, or a library or technique that I've introduced to my teammates that's saving them headaches.
