A privately held $860M fitness equipment manufacturing company with over 4000 employees.Led the company’s 2nd largest manufacturing plant in production, safety, quality, environmental, accounting, human resources, maintenance, and engineering. Managed 550 employees with a $3.5M operating budget. Also, managed operations at the company’s progressive stampings group. Implemented Lean Manufacturing and visual factory practices throughout the plant, significantly reducing cycle times, changeovers, and labor by over 15%. A savings of over $750K annually. Completely restructured Production by engineering each manufacturing cell which improved throughput by 10%, quality by 5%, and reduced downtime by more than 80%. Recognized as Corporate Manager of the year in 2002, and manager of the month 2001.

Managed and directed engineers, technical salaried, and skilled hourly employees. Developed manufacturing plans to support aggressive production introductions. Coordinated extensively with R&D to provide smooth product transition into manufacturing. Led the effort to reduce “time to market” by 10% by creating structured steps from product release to build.

Designed all tooling and equipment, and developed their operating instructions/training to be incorporated into the Production Assembly lines. Developed and implemented machines that applied lubricant to the walking belt which saved over $600K annually.

Seattle, Washington

Negotiated with effected organizations to establish customer/supplier agreements of all delivered flight hardware and schedules associated with Developmental flight test program. Directed Engineers to ensure program requirements and milestones were met. Implemented and lead the design/build team to ensure cost effective manufacturing. Developed manufacturing processes for precision machined, sheet metal cutting and forming, and fiberglass composite components, and their assembly for Airplane Flight Test Programs. Received award for excellence in customer service and on time delivery.

Utilized Mills, CNC Mills, Lathes, Grinders, Jig Bores, Drills, Saws, etc. as required to accomplish assigned tasks. Designed and fabricated all necessary tooling for assigned projects. Received sustained superior performance awards in 1987, 1989, and 1990.
