Responsible for developing and leading the sites Operational Excellence program with accountability for building capability across key business functions to support an cost effective and efficient business model coupled with operational readiness and for changing business and customer needs. Develop and implement structured continuous improvement and change management programs that ensured business and process improvement opportunities were realised and successfully integrated into the business. Support business unit leaders with innovative thinking and strategies to implement and manage change with a tailored and structured approach.Position made redundant as part of O-I’s preparation for sale of ANZ business.

Leading the operations business unit with a makeup of managers and teams of both technical and operational capability with focus on safety, quality, cost and capability to build an efficient and cost-effective business unit.Development of operational strategies for the business unit to deliver measurable benefit and process improvements through the integration of change management programs to meet business and market objectives. Successful strong performance and experience gained across multiple roles in the Melbourne resulted in being approached to relocate to the Brisbane site to continue delivering strong leadership for a site undergoing significant change.

Site certified LSS Black Belt practitioner leading the business Six Sigma program at a local site level. Execution of Black Belt projects, facilitation of Kaizen events and coaching and mentoring of Green Belt practitioners studying for certification. Partnering with the business units leads coupled with a strong customer focused approach led process owners and change teams through the Continuous Improvement process (DMAIC) utilising lean methodologies and problem-solving tools to deliver transformational change and operational excellence protocols that modelled the business for competitive and sustainable success.

Leading the plant operations team through a period of organisational change. Development and integration of business transformation strategies to align organisational structure and manufacturing processes to industry best practices to create a more efficient and profitable operations business unit. Capacity and resource planning to ensure effective utilisation of assets to meet business volume and cost requirements.A high level of communication and negotiating skills were required to successfully lead and manage change within the heavily unionised workforce to ensure operational improvements were realised and sustained.
