I started VOID Watches in Hong Kong in 2008 and over the years I have navigated the company through many projects, large and small. As the name implies we make wristwatches and as a founder and sole owner I’ve been responsible for business development, product development, sales and marketing and the general responsibilities of running a business.Over a decade of running a business has given me a thorough understanding of the mechanics of bringing products from a conceptual idea to reality.A few highlights of my work with VOID Watches:- Working with about 150 retail accounts around the world during the peak years.- Collaborating with the Museum of Modern Arts in New York (MoMA) creating a number of limited collections.- Collaborating with Cathay Pacific (Hong Kong’s premier airline) creating a collection of titanium items for their loyalty programme.- Collaborating with multiple designers around the world.

For about 4 years I ran a small brand making and selling fashion accessories (watches, shoes, leather goods etc.). We had a physical retail location in central Hong Kong (on Square Street, hence the name). During these years retail was doing very well in Hong Kong and we had a great learning curve and got to do a lot of fun projects working with a wide variety of suppliers in China and meeting a lot of interesting people within design, manufacturing, pr and marketing. In 2014 I sold my part of the company to my co-founder.It was decided early on that squarestreet would deliver a completely new type of shopping experience to the people of Hong Kong. Both David and Alexis are born and bred Swedes, so it is of no surprise that the dominant aesthetic is decidedly Scandinavian in flavour. Simplicity, Honesty, Functionality, Quality and Pricing are all part of the pivotal point around which squarestreet spins.Everything you see in the squarestreet store is designed and developed by the founders themselves, thus granting the store a natural integrity that other multi-brand shops will always lack.The open space environment mixing both office and store creates a link for the customer between the end product and it's origin, inviting them to view and take part in the creative process that drives squarestreet. All leather goods are developed and prototyped on site at their Square Street office before precise instructions are sent to the workshop for production.squarestreet has effectively cut out all middle men shortening the supply chain to an absolute minimum, with nothing between the workshops that made the product, and the shelf you picked it up from, or the basket you put it in to. GMC is a part of the Swedish OSM Group. I was responsible for the development of new products in the point of sales (POS) area. My job was to come up with and implement new product ideas together with our design and sourcing teams. All manufacturing was done in mainland China with all challenges that come with that environment. At GMC I learnt a lot about working with large teams in an international environment.

Zenit Design Group AB is one of Sweden's largest design agencies that work with clients like MultiQ, Axis Communications, Precise Biometrics and Sony Ericsson (at the time of my employment). My position at ZDG was as a mechanical engineer but my role involved more than that. I worked on a lot of projects from a blank paper to finished product and was a part of the long term strategic development work for several companies, some of them noted on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. The consultancy environment suited me very well and I learnt at a high pace from very talented colleagues and managers.
