Cancer Research is the largest independent funder of cancer research worldwide. First member of a new international partnership team created to establish CRUK as the leader in the global fight against cancer. Designed and implemented an international strategy by engaging internal and external stakeholders. Helped overseas major donors wanting to make six figure gifts to transform cancer care in the UK and worldwide

Wrote and implemented $12 million program to benefit 11,300 young people at risk of social exclusion. Coordinated 17 projects involving 30 partners across seven countries. Led financial management and accountability to donor (European Union). Produced book and website to promote best practice.

Led inclusive long-term planning process resulting in: revised constitution, five year plan and clear focus on lobbying of European Union. Increased membership by 30 per cent to include newly formed Eastern European societies. Secured pharmaceutical corporate funding. Organized first pan-European conference on increasing the influence of people with MS in European politics.

Researched and wrote 'good government' assessment on Uganda for the Department of International Development (DfID). Assisted research on use of information by social movements and democratization processes in selected African countries

Implemented $3.5 million emergency and development program. Recruited and managed 8 international, 60 national and 300 refugee staff to provide health and social services to 170,000 refugees post Rwandan genocide. Designed institutional and organizational support program for Tanzanian NGOs, addressing inherited corruption issues. Led all aspects of strategic planning, program implementation, evaluation, human resources, fundraising and donor reporting.

Developed $13 million road based relief program. Led emergency relief, agriculture, health, education and veterinary projects. Acted as Medical Coordinator, running the only surgical hospitals in South Sudan, employing mostly Sudanese staff.Responsible for fund-raising proposals, monitoring, reporting and liaison with donors: eg. European Commission for Humanitarian Aid, (ECHO) and USAID. Led crisis management following deaths of local and international staff.

Established in-house PR department. Led national public awareness program. Reviewed press/TV advertising, sponsorship and direct mail activities. Designed and edited all literature. Represented MNDA to press and electronic media. Advised and managed press for Patron, HRH Duchess of York.
