Founder and director of community interest company aiming to develop, protect and promote mountain bike riding in the Dyfi area.Provided strategic leadership to gain trust of several landowners, update existing mountain bike trails and enter negotiations regarding ongoing management of new trail developments.Enabled the organisation to act as a conduit for local riders and businesses through focussing on the community benefits that mountain biking can bring to an area, not just tourism income.Created processes to deliver community engagement in the trail network through professionally managed volunteer "dig days", which attracted riders from outside the area as well as local residents.Results of this work contributed to Dyfi Valley winning the Singletrack World Magazine "Best Destination" award for 2023.Currently building a succession plan to make way for the next generation.

In my first career I installed, maintained and operated a wide range of environmental monitoring systems for businesses in the public and private sectors. Projects included flood warning; climate monitoring; reservoir and hydro-electric power analysis.A significant part of this role included working remotely in harsh environments such as the Scottish Highland and South Wales Valleys. I over-wintered on the Halley V Research Station on a 2006-2008 tour of duty with the British Antarctic Survey.
