I began Matilda’s Planet back in 2012 following a discussion with my young daughter after a trip to London where I promised her I would do more to save our planet. Matilda’s Planet is a socially responsible business with a mission to eradicate fuel poverty, reduce carbon emissions and keep homes warmer for less. 7 years on, and some 2500 homes later the mission remains unchanged. Our real passion is in securing a better future for those in society who have homes which are far from energy efficient, homes that are cold, damp and unhealthy. Homes that test the finances of the poorest in society. Homes that are in themselves sick! We are operating across the United Kingdom and supporting jobs in local communities. The Home Office went live in early 2019 and is already home to dozens of small businesses, social enterprises, freelancers and employees from a range of industries.We have an ethos of support and are building a community of members that don’t directly compete, presenting opportunities for new leads, business support and network growth right on their doorstep. Tring

The community of Tring town had more than a few active theatre groups, but was reliant upon a space owned by the local council. I made the decision to assist them with getting organised to use the one we own ‘The Court’. That meant investment in the facility, the creation of a charitable Trust to help finance and use the place and guess what, 34 years have flown by. When I sold my business empire there were two special buildings. One was Pennyroyal Court, the other the theatre, both had doubtful futures. So, I acquired both, set my eldest daughter Daisy on the task of refurbishing the buildings and put the theatre into better repair for even greater use. My task now is to support the theatre publicly and financially. It is a source of great pleasure and pride.
