Vote Center Representative
CurrentWorked as a Vote Center Representative for the November 2022 General Election, the 2021 California Gubernatorial Special Recall Election, and the November 2020 Presidential General Election. My role was to provide excellent customer service to voters at in-person voting sites. I also assisted with post-election processing of ballots at election headquarters. My primary duties as a Vote Center Rep included using a computer to verify voter eligibility, assisting voters to register to vote, guiding voters on the use of electronic ballot marking devices ("voting tablets"), issuing paper ballots, and helping voters cast ballots when requested. This role was made more challenging by the COVID-19 pandemic and the heightened political climate. Consistently worked with the Vote Center Lead to complete ballot reconciliation at the end of day. Was asked to fill in when Vote Center Lead was unavailable. Helped with teardown at temporary locations. Assisted with post-election processing of ballots at election headquarters, and collaborated with team members to complete a county-wide audit.
