I have started working as a student support worker with the direct entry 14-16 provision at Barnsley College. This role focuses on working with tutors and other staff to support groups of learners and individuals from a range of different backgrounds to ensure they are able to access the college and curriculum. I'm very much looking forward to working in a supportive role which focuses on students which has always been my favourite aspect of working in education.

Chapeltown Sheffield

I worked part time as a deliver driver at Asda Chapeltown. I very much enjoy engaging in a role where I can spend a lot of time by myself, while still interacting with the public and have a much better and healthy work/life balance.

This role focuses on the development of the curriculum offer across FE and HE teacher education in order to provide opportunities for people from all backgrounds to gain qualifications to allow them to work in an educational setting. The role focuses on the planning, teaching and assessment of the AET, CET, PGCE and BA (Hons) Education and professional development as well as undertake teaching observations of trainees. I'm also responsible for building links with local organisations who can provide a breadth of teaching placements for our trainees, while raising the profile and awareness of the college and what the site has to offer.

University Centre Doncaster

Across my time at Doncaster College I have taught across a wide range of courses including the In-Service and Pre-Service PGCE & Cert Ed, the Diploma in Education and Training, the level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher Apprenticeship, BA (Hons) Education and Advancing Professional Practice and MA in Education Studies. The role involves the planning and delivery of taught, blended, flipped and online sessions, as well as extensive trainee support, workshops and observations of teaching and learning. I'm also the course leader for the BA (Hons) Education and Advancing Professional Practice snd the level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher Apprenticeship. A wider part of my role is supporting teaching staff in the use of digital learning technology as well as delivering bespoke software sessions for students across our HE provision.

The Hub

The role involved leading a small team to ensure that Higher Education strategic objectives, operating procedures, effective student engagement and experience and quality assurance processes are implemented effectively in the area of Teacher Education and Professional Development. This department includes City and Guilds provision, Teacher Education Higher Apprenticeships, Initial Teacher Training for the FE & Skills Sector and a BA (Hons) Degree.

Wakefield College

I taught Level 3 TV & Film Creative Media Production at Wakefield College responsible for all aspects of planning, delivery, and assessment for 2 groups of learners across both 1st and 2nd years. I also took over as course leader for the level 2 Media course for the 2nd and 3rd Terms of the year in addition to the above duties, enabling me to gain a wide departmental teaching experience.

I have designed a set of exhibition boards for Fitzpatrick International for ISM 2011 in Cologne, Germany which is the world's largest confectionery and sweet trade fair. I have also designed a variety of marketing materials including a promotional sales folder, various POS and other promotional materials.

Excellent product knowledge across all ranges of media having gained over seven years previous experience. I have also dealt with the general public and delivered high standards of service, including product selection and dealing with enquiries and customer orders.Working at HMV I am surrounded by branded goods and visual touch points in the form of merchandising graphics and packaging design. Customer service has improved personal responsibility regarding brand representation. Working at HMV has taught me the importance of brand strategy and maintenance.

Doncaster College

As part of studying for my PGCE I taught 2nd Year Level 3 Extended Diploma Creative Media & Graphics and 2nd Year Level 5 BA (Hons) Graphic Design. I was involved with the assessment and tracking of work along with taking part in all extra-curricular activities with the level 3 group including a residential trip to London which offered a large amount of CPD activities. I also took part in the tutorial process as well the planning and delivery of sessions at both levels as well as summative assessment.

Bloc Projects

This involves designing leaflets, helping with photography and cataloguing of products, networking at events, researching new methods of manufacture and promotion and generally helping out in any way I can.
