Assistance to pharmacy and food industry for product development.

NPD for dysphagia, thermal validations.

Food Technologist for a sports nutrition company. Primary purpose was to improve current products, manage NPDs, maintain and gain new quality certifications, develop new business, and to improve product quality.

Implementation of NPD project at the Brisbane site across 9 different production lines. The role included communication of projects to all stake holders at the site and ensuring timelines were met for the implementation of these products. Coordination and running of trials on these lines was include within the role. This was in the areas of products, primary packaging and secondary packaging.

Work experience:• Managing development projects/tasks for the department with 3 staff• Managing the quality of ingredients• Managing the testing and monitoring of production• Managing the documentation data for the products and ingredients• Managing product production issues that occurred on a day to day basis with the factory • Liasing with Business Development Manager on incoming projects and timelines• Setting up new procedures and processes• Completing internal audits• Presenting information and systems to external auditors (SQF and ISO)• Making sure that our products are continually at the cutting edge of the FSANZ standards to get into markets first.

Due to the short period of time in this role, the main learning experience was in using SAP and the Nestle managing systems and tools. Once involved in the Zone team, I had starting investigating process improvements through an assortment of techniques.

Developing new protein protein powders and protein bars.

Positions held over this duration are as follows:- R&D Technologist (cost downs and projects)- R+D and QA Packaging Technologist- Senior R&D Technologist - Nutricia (Wet baby foods)- Senior R&D Technologist - FoodWithin these postions I have work on baby foods, jams, low acid vegetables, high acid vegetables, fruit singles, fruit salads, carbonated soft drinks, carbonated juices, cordials, hot fill juices, pasteurised juices, chilled juices, food industry supply products and novel products. Packaging that I have worked with include; cans, jars, steel cans, plastic cans, paper labels, hot melt glues, self adhessive labels, barcodes (standard), 2D barcodes, cartons, trays, plastic bottles (PET, PVC, PP, and Other like barrier property bottles), plastic heat seal trays, plastic films, stretch wrap, shrink wrap, plastic caps, steel caps, steel closures, pallet designs, and many others.Within my last year at Golden Circle I have also completed a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration through the University of the Sunshine Coast.
