At Corning, I was in charge of a world-class interferometry lab, providing inhomogeneity measurements to qualify high purity fused silica for microlithographic lens blanks. I oversaw the growth of the lab from a small job shop to a high volume internationally recognized lab. In 1996, I transferred to Charleston, SC to start a greenfield plant as a member of the design team.
