Stay At Home Dad
Current• Being a stay at home dad called on the use of multiple skills and I found myself continually learning new things and facing varying challenges.• Organisation was crucial to our daily home routine in terms of juggling days at nursery, doctors’ appointments and day to day tasks. • Time keeping was also important; my daughter’s nursery charged for late arrivals and late pickups. It was crucial to time my day to work complimentary to my wife’s working hours. • As a parent multi- tasking is a key skill. As a stay at home dad I was responsible for my daughter’s every waking need, running and maintaining a home as well as reacting to any challenges that may have come my way on a daily basis. • I took and continue to have responsibility for our family finances. On an ad hoc basis I provide informal financial advice for friends and family due to my background in the financial sector; this gave and continues to give me a real sense of achievement. • Due to my financial knowledge and administration skills I would also help a local sole trader in these areas.
