Oversaw all Central Services, including: - facilities management – for 220+ structures totaling 2M+ square feet. - landscape care and maintenance – of 1,200 roadside miles, 410+ park acres, and 100 government facility acres. - fleet repair and replacement – for 730+ vehicles and heavy equipment for all Unified Government departments except buses. - internal support – of phones, cell phones, mail handling, copiers, printing, and records management. - animal control – code enforcement and shelter operations. - 800 MHz radio system – supporting all public safety and government operations for the Unified Government and University of Georgia. - downtown permits – for sidewalk cafes, vendors, special events, and publication racks.Controlled and executed a $14.5M annual budget governing 100+ fulltime employees in 6 divisions.Managed 12 recurring capital projects with $3.5M+ total annual appropriations. Prepared agenda reports to inform Mayor and Commission decision-making. Delivered presentations to the Mayor and Commission, and to citizen committees. Set and executed service delivery plans with other departments. Provided facilities for independent and state agencies via leases and interagency agreements.Member of Unified Government emergency operations center. Highlights: - Created and advocated plan for a $78M new county judicial center and space modernization program to consolidate government offices. - Partnered with the University of Georgia to combine 2 radio systems into one modern digital public safety and government communications system. $11M project improved public safety radio coverage throughout Athens-Clarke County and university campus while reducing future operating costs. - Led or facilitated other cross-functional initiatives including a downtown health and safety study and VoIP implementation. - Coordinated major renovations and other facilities capital projects.
