Profile bio

About David Foreman

In the last six years I have served in several capacities at a mid sized Managed Services Provider based in Richmond Virginia. Focus areas included running an infrastructure team, management of data collections for multiple SOC audits, and managing the integration and merge of internal systems when we acquired a another MSP. As an operations leader working for the President or the COO (after the merger) I influenced and drove many transformational activities including merging the ticketing system and monitoring tools. I wrote or reworked process for procurement, incident management, patch management and change management activities with key stakeholders and conducted training or facilitated training by others. I enjoy mentoring and coaching and teaching in a technical setting and am regularly invited to Client facing meetings to discuss technical topics in plain language. I am a specialist in 'Hard Asset' IT systems support. This work has included project implementations, operations support, physical security, and inventory management functions. Over the last 15 years I have led teams that built the IT infrastructure for more than 20 office buildings and two Data Centers, decommissioned over 20 buildings, and supported the daily operations of more than 20 (moves, adds, changes of people and office/cube spaces) including multiple Data Centers. In recent years I managed teams that built out new infrastructure to allow older Data Centers to be exited or closed and managed the closing of one raised floor space. My operations experience includes insourcing and team building of multiple data Center locations from an external vendor for approximately 75 contractors and associates. This effort included transfer of operations documentation, implementation of an automated DCIM system for power and temp monitoring, and the stand up of an RFID system that covered 15,000+ physical assets in six Data Centers. In 2014 I initiated and built out an Agile/Kanban based operations system for tracking and performing tasks within the Data Centers I was managing using Version One. This work included development of workflows, an enterprise wide intake process for work, and monitoring of the teams to ensure that Agile norms were followed, allowing a significant increase in employee engagement and participation. Many process improvements followed due to that engagement. Specialties: Design Build of complete IT solutions for buildings, IT operations, project management (waterfall as well as AGILE), and team building in outsourced and insourced IT environments.

Listed skills include Data Center, Vendor Management, Program Management, Project Management, and 41 others.
