Family is the most important value of my life. When I first arrived in Nunavik over 45 years ago, I was quickly touched by the welcoming of Inuit culture, the resiliency of its people and the ability to survive without much services. I am grateful to be the father of three daughters, Sarassie, Aputik and Dawn, a caring son, Lukasi, who left us in 2016, as well as nine grandchildren. All of us are proud Kuujjuamiut engaged within our beautiful community and region.In 1987, I put all my energy, passion and determination in founding Tivi Inc. (Location et Transport Tivi Inc.), a Nunavik based corporation providing a wide range of services including: expediting and logistical support for exploration cpmpanies, consulting, local cartage, vehicle rentals, as well as worldwide moving services. We also operate Nunavik's only Inuit Art Gallery.My three daughters are the majority shareholders of the company. Tivi is a Nunavik Inuit Enterprise, lsted as Location et Transport Tivi Inc in the directory.My second passion is the Isuarsivik Regional Recovery Centre, a community based, volunteer led resource. I have servred as the Chairperson for the last 17 years. We are presently building a new 40.6 million dollar facility. Construction of the main facility will start in the summer of 2020.My clients, relatives and collaborators would describe me as a generous, caring and compassionate leader always ready to help out. Supporting others, being engaged in youth development and contributing to opportunities for Inuit re-empowerment are the three main desires I cherish.
