Event Manager at the Indiana Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, a non-profit organization that specializes in services, research, education, advocacy, and programs for people living with Multiple Sclerosis. The National MS Society annually hosts hundreds of fundraising events nationwide that directly funds programs and research led by the Society.Primarily responsible for producing and managing the Indiana Chapter’s series of community walks and bike ride fundraising events. Oversaw the complete on-site operation of each event including set-up, execution, and tear-down. Responsible for all pre-event planning such as securing event locations, negotiating venue rental contracts, and coordinating event logistics with venue staff. Negotiated and contracted additional rental equipment and outside services, vendors, and personnel. Responsible for building, maintaining, and operating within the chapter’s $100,000 event operational expense budget. Maintained the chapter’s inventory of event supplies and purchased new supplies as needed. Worked with local businesses to secure goods and services donated in-kind to help offset event expenses. Managed event volunteer committees and recruited new members; the committees are groups of volunteers that assist with community outreach and planning for the events. Supervised on-site volunteers, both at an individual and group level. Held close relationships with the chapter’s Board of Trustees members and gave regular reports at Board of Trustee meetings. Assisted with cross-function and cross-market projects as needed.

Event Coordinator for a non-profit organization that specializes in music education advocacy and event programming for students and educators. In this role, I produced and operated many of the organization’s signature events, including the Bands of America Grand National Championships, Fall Regional Championships, National Festival, and Summer Symposium music and leadership camp. Served as the lead Event Manager for many of the Bands of America Fall Regional Championships, a series of competitive marching band events with upwards of 10,000+ spectators and 4,000+ student participants. Primary responsibilities included overseeing onsite operations of the events and managing contracted on-site event staff and volunteers. Additional duties included managing event logistics such as site planning, budgeting, and contracting; creating event operational timelines and flows; securing equipment rentals and vendors; and planning travel, housing, and meals for staff. Served as the lead Event Manager for the National Concert Band Festival at Butler University, a three-day event in conjunction with the Music for All National Festival. Organized and executed the event for approximately 1,500 student participants and 2,000 spectators. Oversaw an on-site event staff of 20 members who assisted with onsite operations. Assisted in the production and acted as liaison for the Drum Corps International Central Indiana event in conjunction with the Summer Symposium music and leadership camp and its 1700+ participants. Responsible for recruiting and scheduling exhibition performances by collegiate marching bands for Regional Championship and Grand National Championship events and serving as their on-site logistics liaison.Represented the organization at other music-related events including trade shows, conferences, concerts, and performances. Assisted in coordinating the event department's intern program including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training interns.

Created and implemented an official Facebook fan page and Twitter account for one of the top ranked collegiate marching bands in the nation.Successfully gained over 1,000 likes for the page in its first year of existence. The page continues to be used by the band today, serving as a source of communication with members, alumni, parents, and fans through a variety of media such as text updates, pictures and videos. The page is also used as a recruiting tool for prospective and incoming students.The University of Massachusetts Minuteman Marching Band is one of the premier music ensembles of UMass Amherst and serves as the university’s music ambassadors. Over the past 50+ years, the band has performed at numerous prestigious events at the local, state and national level, and it bestows many awards and honors. Most notably, the band received the Sudler Award in 1998, awarded annually to the highest achieving collegiate band in the nation. Recently, the band were proud participants of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in November 2013 and the Rose Parade in January 2018. The 350+ member band is currently under the direction of Dr. Timothy Todd Anderson.
