Has extensive experience and a practical track record in the management of public infrastructural Assets .Retired from Hastings District Council at the end of 2013. At Hastings responsible for the management of all engineering infrastructure and parks and properties assets. Under his guidance Hastings established long term infrastructure programmes that have enabled appropriate levels of service to be delivered very cost effectively.Is a Past President and Life Member of IPWEA NZ. Until May 2017, Chaired IDS - a company that is owned by IPWEA NZ to make world leading deterioration modelling available to all NZ Public Infrastructure Agencies. Previously chaired the New Zealand Utilities Advisory Group (NZUAG), and Local Government Working Parties on Land Transport Pricing and Road Reform Proposals. Was appointed to the Road Maintenance Task Force by Minister of Transport and was a member of the Local Government NZ/NZTA Road Efficiency Group (REG) governance group established to oversee the implementation of the Task Force's recommendations. Now a Principal Of the Road Transport Unit (RTU) OF EquIP, a Business Unit of LGNZ ad facilitates workshops in the top half of the NI promoting implementation of innovations developed by REG Work Groups. Is a qualified commissioner for Resource Consent Hearings.
